The maps showing lighthouse locations on this website were adapted by the webmaster from maps obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau's TIGER Mapping Service.

The goal of this service, which was begun in August 1994, is to provide a public resource for generating high-quality, detailed maps of anywhere in the United States. The service allows web developers and publishers to use public domain maps in their own publications and documents.

These maps are not meant to be used by themselves as a guide for visiting lighthouses. If you are preparing to visit lighthouses, it is recommended that you obtain more detailed maps of the area you're planning to visit. The maps on this website might help you locate lighthouses on more detailed maps. It is also a good idea to check with local chambers of commerce; they can often help with directions.
