Accessibility: The lighthouse is open to private boaters by arrangement: call (617) 223-8666. Boaters must drop off passengers and anchor offshore.

Station established: 1716; Current lighthouse tower built: 1783

Construction material: Stone with brick lining; Tower height: 89 feet; Height of focal plane: 102 feet

Other buildings still standing: 1876 fog signal building, 1884 keeper's house,1884 cistern building, 1889 oil house, 1899 boathouse

Current optic: Second order Fresnel lens (1859)

Characteristic: Flashing white every 10 seconds

Fog signal: One blast every 30 seconds

The electricity for Boston Light is now supplied by Hull Wind
